RESEARCH OVERVIEW

Prof Prehn's group is interested in the elucidaton and qualitative and quantitative description of cell survival and cell death signalling in cancer cells and during ischaemic and degenerative tissue destruction. He is particularly intereted in single-cell imaging approaches for the detection of apoptotic events and in the role of BH3 only proteins as mediators and novel targets in cell survival and cell death signaling.
