BIOGRAPHY

I am a Consultant Upper GI Surgeon in Beaumont Hospital, and an Associate Professor of Surgery in RCSI. Having completed my training in 2021, I undertook a post-CCT fellowship training in the University of Toronto and University Health Network. This comprehensive fellowship was a three-year, blended clinical and research training position. My clinical training encompasses all elements of benign and malignant foregut surgery, including benign and malignant oesophageal disease, benign and malignant gastric disease, therapeutic endoscopy, and bariatric/metabolic surgery. My fellowship had a specific focus on minimally invasive and robotic approaches.

My laboratory research interests are focussed on utilising patient-derived oesophagogastric cancer organoids to predict treatment response in patients undergoing neoadjuvant therapy for oesophagogastric cancer. My clinical research interests are focussed on patient outcomes and surgical quality in foregut disease.
