Louise’s research has contributed evidence on prescription drug use and harms, including prescribing in prison and community settings. Her work has identified emerging trends in medications with misuse potential, notably increasing gabapentinoid use in Ireland, informing public reporting and discussions relevant to future legislation. Louise has also published extensively on OAT outcomes, including during the COVID-19 pandemic, with findings disseminated to support clinical decision-making, and through patient and public involvement (PPI) activities.
