RESEARCH OVERVIEW

My current research interest lies in the exploration of modern statistical methods that engender a better understanding of health processes as a complex, relational and dynamic systems. In the past six years, this involved, in particular, the study and application of person-centered statistical tools for the analysis of longitudinal data, e.g. finite mixture models, which allows us to frame development as an (individual) process of temporally inter-connected changes. Applications of these models in own as well as collaborative research projects, include, but are not limited to investigations in ageing, cardiology, health promotion, clinical medicine, health technological assessment and life-course epidemiology.
