RESEARCH OVERVIEW

My laboratory focuses primarily on understanding the regulation of the blood-brain barrier in health and disease. We use genetic and molecular biology tools in in vitro and in vivo model systems to explore how the vasculature of neural tissue responds to trauma and disease. A major theme of my research is understanding how regional changes in blood-brain barrier integrity affect cognition and behaviour.
