RESEARCH OVERVIEW
Olga Piskareva's research focuses on understanding how tumour cells interact with and adapt to their microenvironment to promote cancer progression and therapeutic resistance. Her work integrates tumour microenvironment biology, extracellular matrix remodelling, epigenetic regulation, and tumour-associated antigen discovery to identify mechanisms that drive aggressive disease in neuroblastoma and lung cancer. Using advanced experimental models and systems-level approaches, her research aims to uncover novel vulnerabilities that can be exploited therapeutically. A major current focus is developing next-generation cancer immunotherapies, including mRNA-based cancer vaccines that target tumour-specific and tumour-associated antigens to enhance anti-tumour immune responses and improve outcomes for patients with high-risk cancers.
