TEACHING AND SUPERVISION OVERVIEW
Olga Piskareva's educational leadership focuses on inclusive assessment, student transition, and curriculum enhancement in international higher education. She led the student-staff partnership StEP project and the Foundation Year Assessment Revision Working Group, which developed evidence-informed assessment practices to reduce student stress, support linguistically diverse learners, and promote student success, equity, diversity, and inclusion across the Foundation Year programme.
She has a strong track record in supervision and mentoring, having supervised/co-supervised 12 PhD students to completion within 3/4 years, including 8 as main supervisor, 3 MSc by Research students, and 60+ undergraduate students to completion since 2018. Every postgraduate student leaves her team with 2-3 peer-reviewed publications. During their time under her supervision, they secure travel fellowships to collaborators’ labs and research conferences, shaping their success and early-career readiness.
